We understand that purchasing books is a personal experience—sometimes a title isn’t what you expected, an item arrives damaged, or a mistake happens during ordering. Our Refund Policy is designed to provide clarity, fairness, and confidence whenever you shop with us. The following guidelines explain how refunds, returns, and exchanges are handled for all orders placed through our U.S. bookstore.

Eligibility for Refunds

To qualify for a refund, customers must request it within 30 days of the delivery date. Refund requests submitted after this period may not be eligible, except in special circumstances such as carrier damage or fulfillment errors. For an item to be eligible for return and refund, it must be in new, unused, and resalable condition, with no visible signs of wear, damage, or markings. Books that have been read extensively, written in, or altered are not eligible for refunds unless the issue was caused by us or by the carrier during shipping.

Non-Refundable Items

Certain items are not eligible for refunds, including but not limited to:

  • Digital books or electronic downloads

  • Gift cards or store credit purchases

  • Clearance or final-sale items marked as “non-returnable” at the time of purchase

  • Items damaged due to customer mishandling or improper storage
    These restrictions ensure fairness for all customers while helping us maintain quality and inventory integrity.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us immediately at order@bookschangelife.com. To expedite your case, we may request photos of the damaged book, packaging, or any visible defect. Once verified, we will offer one of the following solutions:

  • A replacement copy of the item

  • A full refund issued to the original payment method

  • Store credit equal to the value of the purchase
    In most cases, damaged or incorrect items do not need to be returned, but we will advise you if returning is required.

Refund Process

To submit a refund request, email us at order@bookschangelife.com with your order number, the reason for the request, and any supporting documentation. Once your request is received, our customer service team will review it and respond within 2–4 business days. If your item needs to be returned, we will provide instructions, return authorization, and—when applicable—a prepaid return shipping label.

When the returned item arrives at our facility at 1313 N. Market St., Wilmington, Delaware 19894, our team will inspect it for eligibility. After inspection, approved refunds will be issued within 5–10 business days. Depending on your financial institution, the refund may take additional time to appear on your statement.

Return Shipping Costs

For returns caused by an error on our part—such as shipping the wrong title or sending a damaged item—we will cover all return shipping costs. For voluntary returns (such as order changes or personal preference), customers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise stated in a promotion or special accommodation.

Exchanges

If you would prefer an exchange instead of a refund, we are happy to assist. Exchanges follow the same eligibility and return conditions as refunds. Exchange requests depend on the availability of the requested title or edition. If the replacement item is unavailable, you may choose store credit or a refund instead.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have been notified that your refund has been processed but do not see the amount posted within the expected timeframe, we recommend checking with your bank or credit card provider first. Processing times vary, and some financial institutions require additional business days. If you still cannot locate your refund, please contact us at order@bookschangelife.com, and we will be glad to help trace the transaction.

Cancellations

Orders can be canceled before they have shipped. If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible with your order number. If the order has already entered the shipping process, we may be unable to cancel it. In such cases, the item will need to be returned following the standard refund and return procedures outlined above.
